The visit to Busan and the Busan IT Promotion Agency (BIPA) further solidified this partnership. Plans are underway to host partners from Busan, South Korea, at Ložionica in Serbia.
At the kind invitation of the hosts, Serbia Creates and BIPA held the first working meeting. At the meeting, a Steering Committee was established, and key steps for further collaboration outlined, with a particular focus on the gaming, IT, and content industries. As a leading global power in the creative industries, South Korea presents exceptional opportunities for future joint work and learning. One significant outcome of the meeting is the plan to host partners from Busan, South Korea, at Ložionica in Serbia.
Serbia Creates team attended the opening of the Busan Indie Connect festival, one of the most significant events in the gaming industry, organized by BIPA. BIPA is also the initiator and organizer of the prestigious G-Star festival, the largest gaming convention that has been held in Busan since 2009.
Recognized as a regional hub for the film industry, Serbia found Busan, a UNESCO Creative City of Film, to be an excellent location for productive meetings and visits. The Serbia Creates team met with representatives from the Busan Cinema Center and the Asian Contents & Film Market, where they successfully deepened cooperation and agreed on specific exchanges within festivals and the SERBIA CREATES SCREEN project.
The visit ended with a meeting with Serbian Ambassador to South Korea, Nemanja Grbić, who played a pivotal role in advancing this collaboration. At the meeting, we emphasized the ongoing importance of cooperation with South Korea, particularly in the areas of digitization and creative industries, and reinforced their commitment to further development. The Serbia Creates team will continue to work closely with its South Korean partners, including at Ložionica, which is set to become a permanent meeting place for the exchange of our two cultures.
