Only a few months after the end of the first national music competition “SERBIA CREATES THE SPOTLIGHT”, young and unestablished musicians are already conquering the scene of Serbia and the region. This innovative national competition provided an opportunity for talented young artists to shine in front of the audience and showcase their musical talent.

This year’s winners – spotlights, represent the first generation of young artists supported not only by the music industry but also by the entire country.

Since the national competition “SERBIA CREATES THE SPOTLIGHT” ended, these young musicians have already performed more than 35 times, at 15 prestigious music festivals both in Serbia and in the region. Their performances met with an extraordinary response from the audience, showing a wide range of musical genres and talents coming from Serbia.

One of the key factors that makes this project unique is the fact that the platform Serbia creates music in cooperation with relevant actors of the music scene realized the competition. Through partnerships with established musicians, critics, cultural centers, media, publishing houses and festivals, this initiative has achieved synergy between all segments of the music industry.

The selection of performers was a demanding process, considering the large number of registered talents. The eminent jury of the national competition “SERBIA CREATES THE SPOTLIGHT” carefully selected 21 performers from five different musical genres. These performers have already had the honor of appearing at prestigious festivals such as EGZIT, Arsenal Fest, D Festival, Forestland, Lent, Energija Festival, Uzlet, ARLEM, Belgrade Beer Fest, Music Week, Roll & Blues, Lovefest, Nashville Jazz Festival and Freshwave Festival.

The first national music competition “SERBIA CREATES THE SPOTLIGHT” represents a serious step forward towards supporting and promoting young musical talents in Serbia and the region. Their energy, creativity and passion for music promise a bright future for the music scene of the Balkans. This project is not only an opportunity for the performers to show themselves, but also for the audience to discover new favorite sounds and talents.

Systematic approach of support of the entire industry to young and unestablished talents and commitment to the development of young talents of the domestic scene, is the mission of the platform Serbia creates music, as part of the national platform Serbia creates, within the Cabinet of the President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
