The Creative industries Network of the Western Balkans convened for its third meetup in Banja Luka, marking another significant milestone in the collaboration between creative organizations, spaces, and initiatives from across the region. This gathering of project partners – UMPACI, Banja Luka City, and Serbia Creates – was focused on planning future activities and collaborative projects to boost the growth of the creative industries in the region.
As a key event in the network’s ongoing efforts, the meetup functioned as a ”think-tank”, fostering discussions and agreements among partners. This meeting continues to reinforce the network’s mission to support innovation, creativity, and cultural exchange, as well as their crucial role in the development of the region’s creative economy.
The Creative industries network was founded on the initiate by Ložionica and Serbia Creates in June 2024 in Belgrade. The first official gathering took place there, followed by a second event at the Forth Forum – International Forum for Creative Industries in Skopje, North Macedonia, where the theme “Innovation and Creativity as Capital in the Creative Economy” was discussed in depth.
Supported by UNESCO, through the “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” (CC4WBs) project funded by the European Union, the network’s goal is to enhance the region’s cultural and creative sectors. This collaboration helps to increase the socio-economic impact of creative industries by fostering regional dialogue and cooperation.
As the network grows, its members continue to work towards a vibrant and sustainable creative ecosystem in the Western Balkans, driving both innovation and economic development.
