The summer volunteer program at the National Museum of Serbia and the History Museum of Serbia left a strong impression on the students from the specialized departments for performing and audio-visual arts of the Philological Gymnasium in Belgrade. Full of inspiration and enthusiasm, during this one-month volunteer trip organized by the Serbia Creates platform, they experienced unforgettable moments and created bonds that will last for a long time, and they shared some impressions with us:

“It was great! It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot along the way. The best part was the people; not only those you conduct through the museum, but also the people who volunteer with you. The superiors talked to us like friends, once we even sat down together for coffee. They were very supportive and advised us regularly.” – said Bogdan Đukić, who volunteered at the National Museum

“I am satisfied with volunteering at the History Museum because our tasks were our choice and very interesting, also the exhibition itself was very interesting.” The people from the museum were more than fair to us. ” – Jana Paunović, who volunteered at the History Museum, shared her impressions with us.

Students also participated in the organization of Youth Day, a part of the program that allowed their peers free entry to the museum, and also organized various themed workshops and costume tours. And most importantly, all our students who participated in this program became part of the “Society of Young Friends of the National Museum” club, thus continuing their engagement and support for the National Museum.

“Volunteering is important for high school students because they can see how what they learned in school, in experimental conditions, looks like in the real world.” Also, through participation in the organization and design of various stage events, they meet people with the same interests, gain new contacts and prepare for the job market,” said Biljana Todorović, professor of the Philological High School in the department of stage and audio-visual arts, on this occasion.

Thank you to all the students for their commitment. See you next summer!
